Brush onto cookies. Sprinkle with whatever sugar or decorations you like--the lemon glaze will be very tasty and will function as "glue" to hold the sugar, etc. on.
I typically do the baking on one day and the decorating on another day--no problem!
I use the powdered sugar/lemon glaze too, and Use a drop or two of food coloring to dye it an appropriate color. I'd probably leave the angels white, but you can easily do the Christmas trees green.
