This is by far the best and easiest way.

We have a large rectangular pan that fits across 2 burners. I have the "bridge burner" on my stove that's meant to accommodate this kind of pan. We like it because it's just wide enough for bacon. It's by Kitchenaid.

Hands down the best way to cook bacon. No splatters all over the stove, and the bacon is flat and perfect every time. You can line the sheet pan with foil for easier cleanup.

Yes! This is the only way we cook bacon now. You can cook a whole pound on a regular 1/4 sheet size cookie sheet. And the leftover bacon grease is perfect for saving--not as much residue as pan-frying.

We use a quart sized pot. No mess.

Cast iron skillets are best for making crispy bacon, but the microwave really is much easier.

I would find an oblong pan like that awkward. Specifically, I don't like cooking with the handle pointing right toward me--I either have it at a 45 degree angle (with my round pans) or, when I rarely use a square pan, I keep the handle at a 90 degree angle off to the side. That wouldn't work well with these rectangular ones.

Scanpan makes a pretty good 10" square pan that I bet he'd like. We used to have one. Now, though, I just do bacon in a bigger round pan--my 12" cast iron. It doesn't fit the whole pack at once, though.

If it's just for 1-2 servings, use the microwave and papertowels.

DH cooks bacon every couple of weekends and has been complaining about trying to fit it easily into a round pan, so I thought I would get him a square or rectangular pan for frying bacon, as one of his Christmas gifts.

I think I am on decision overload and cannot decide between these two pans. Which would you get, and why? In essay format please.
