Should be amended to specify, "looking for honest, ambitious, funny, respectful man (who has other qualities I'm not mentioning which would make me want to have sex with him)".

No kidding. My husband is actually honest, funny, and respectful, and he's very ambitious in his career field--always looking for ways to build his resume, networking, positioning himself for more responsibility, actively seeking promotions and new jobs with more authority and scope, but he just doesn't make that kind of money, and he never will, because that's not par for his field (which he loves). Ask yourself, would you really want a guy who was truly ambitious but was never going to make a lot of money, or a guy who made a ton of money without working very hard and was content to coast on that? I suspect that many people who say they want an "ambitious" partner think it's a nice way of saying that they want someone who works to make a lot of money.

OP not saying this is the case with you, but I kept picking wrong men. I took a two year break from dating and did some therapy, really working on what was important in my growth and what kind of man I really wanted. When I started to date again, great men were everywhere. I just hadn't been interested in them before.

Not only do we exist, but some of us are even in our early 40s (gasp!). You've just got to make yourself available and notice who's around you when you're out and about.

How old are we talking? The older you get the harder they are to find. My friends are finding most of these guys exist in the 29-34 age range. We are all in our mid to late 20s.
