+1
Travel shouldn't be about bringing some gift back to people at home- travel should be about the experience, don't want the stuff- do want him to help share the love of travel, that our world is larger than what they see, and the excitement of learning about a new place, culture, food, traditions, etc

My DH always brings back gifts for us. I think it is so sweet. My dad used to do this, too, although I never told DH about it.

He brings home all the freebie stuff. If it is a more unusual trip he will get something.

Used to bring me little things (usually edible) but now he travels way too much on quick trips and it would just be a waste of money. He does bring treats back from special locations if he sees or tries something he knows I will like. We both bring two year old DC something from almost every work trip - usually an edible treat but sometimes a book from the airport, or a location specific toy or t-shirt.

I'm the one who travels and I didn't want to set the expectation of gifts on every trip. Then you end up buying junk from an airport store.

No. We don't need more junk.

Something little for the kids. Nothing for me. When I travelled for business I wouldn't buy him anything unless I was somewhere with some cool regional food or something. It doesn't bother me that he doesn't buy me anything. We don't need more stuff.

If he sees something for our daughter he'll get it, but usually no. I don't bring home gifts from traveling either.

When I was a kid I collected pins, so my dad would bring me one if he went somewhere interesting. If DD has a collection along those lines as she gets older, I can see us contributing.

Maybe for international trips. But the reality is that I travel way more. In fact I'm waiting for an international flight right now. I rarely bring home gifts. It would be a gift a week and our house would be overflowing with junk. Plus I am working, not shopping, on business trips.

My husband brings home little silly gifts to make me laugh.

Yes when he travels overseas. Not usually on his domestic trips, but he might bring some edible goodies back if he's in SF for a week.

On overnight trips to NYC or something? No.

On more exotic, transcontinental trips? Yes, always.

Why would it bother anyone if he didn't?

Nearly every time. Very sweet. But I (really) wouldn't care if he didn't as long as he gets home in one piece,

When he travels by himself? If not, does it bother you?
