At these visits (at any school, for children of this age), they are simply trying to confirm as much as possible that your child and your family will not be a nightmare. No, they don't care if your DC can or can't draw a flower or if she colors her tree orange. That can all be "fixed." What can't be fixed is obvious signs of brattiness or parents who are overbearing. They are very good at sussing out that kind of thing.
While I think these things are certainly on the radar, I completely disagree that they are not trying to see whether your child can demonstrate basic skills, separate easily, transition well, and behave herself in the classroom.

I do not know the range, but it seems to matter. How much, I don't know. (This was probably totally unhelpful.)

The running was a game in the (maybe) gym from what I could gather. Sounds like they also listened to a story.

DD said they played games, did magic tricks, she wrote her name, she had to draw a picture of her family, and that they made them all run. That's about all I could get from her.

The kids did several IQ-like tests from what I heard. Transition test, too. Imagine there were some struggles.

That's pretty much what we have, too. Good time - wants to go to school there. Can't tell much else! We love the school. Did your child draw a picture while there?

Sounds like they listene to a story, copied some drawings, played, and moved from room to room as a class. Hard to get much more out of the child.
