Subject: Busch Gardens Christmas Town or Hershey Park Candy Cane Lane with older kids? Or how about Longwood?
Just returned from Hershey. Most of their open rides are kiddie rides. Roller coasters and bigger rides are closed now.

Especially thinking of Longwlood as a trip over the winter holiday with my 14 year old (not a typical 14 year old in interests). DH will be out of town after Christmas and I wanted to go somewhere.

We are a family with 2 parents and 4 kids that are in elementary and middle school. I want to take the kids to one or the other some time this season, which would be better?
Since my kids are older, we don't need "kiddie rides". The smallest one is about 48 inches tall.
Money *is* a consideration--we would probably drive to the park and back in the same day to save money on a hotel room. Busch Gardens is more expensive, but if it is really MUCH better we could probably splurge.
Another thought I had was to make a little trip of it and go to Hershey Park one day, get a room for the night, and go to Longwood Gardens the next. Is Longwood Gardens a good choice for older kids?
Like I said, money is somewhat of a consideration but if it is really wonderful, we can splurge.
