Remember that early the doubling is very small.
10 to 20
20 to 40
40 to 80
80 to 160 - now it's getting dark

Mine was an expensive neuroses...so maybe wait and test again in a few days

OP here. This is me. I just cannot get over looking at the positive tests! I just took another, and now that I have lined up 3 of the same brand from 12/2, 12/3, and today, I can definitely see a progression. It's not huge since the lines are still light but it is noticeable.

Over TIME, yes. From yesterday to today? Maybe not. Congrats, and please stop worrying - there's not a damn thing you can do!

Yeah my tests didn't start getting noticeably darker until my beta was above 200 or so.

I got a faint line at 6dp5dt and it didn't get noticeably darker until day 10 or 11.

OP here -- thanks. The last couple have been a different brand, just because that's what I had on hand, so we are trying not to read too much into it.

Generally they do get darker, but it depends on the batch of tests. If they are not from the same batch, they might not react the same way.

Also, 6dp5dt is pretty early, so your line is likely quite faint. I remember that it was hard to tell a difference until I had a few to compare. It was clear that they were getting darker looking back a few days, but it was really hard to see the change one day to the next.

And agreed with PP, you need to use a consistent sample (ideally FMU). Otherwise, the hormone levels are so low in early pregnancy that the concentration in your urine will vary throughout the day.

HPTs are qualitative, not quantitative so I wouldn't worry too much. Did you use FMU yesterday and today?

In my experience it got darker every two days or so. I tested several times a week from 3.5 weeks (when I found out) until 5 weeks when I finally accepted the pregnancy wasn't going anywhere and relaxed a bit. Then I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. My point is that you should enjoy your pregnancy while you can and don't worry - there is nothing in your control when it comes to viability (except obvious health choices) and tests won't help anything.

I am 6dp5dt and have been getting positive HPTs since yesterday, but the line hasn't gotten darker yet. I guess I was expecting it to.

Is that a bad sign?
