I love, and have always loved, lobster, very rich, very sweet taste, and agree that it needs to be fresh. The total annoying thing is that although prices up North are really low these days because of oversupply, it is rare to see those prices reflected here, either at the store or even less likely, in a restaurant. $15 for a small lobster roll given the prices they are paying for lobster ought to at least lead to a misdemeanor offense these days. Interesting article in the New Yorker awhile back on this.

I do like Lobster rolls, but I'm not a huge fan of lobster. If I got to legal Seafood and I'm in the mood to spend "lobster money" I opt instead for Alaskan King Crab legs. They are much more tender and sweeter.

Whomever told you to get lobster from Giant, ignore that terrible advice. Giant is to Red Lobster as Wegmans is to Blacksalt.

Lobster must be eaten fresh. while you can get a good lobster here, I would not risk it. Texture is similar to monkfish/scallop. Amazing.

It's ok. I like it better as a component of a larger dish than by itself. So, lobster risotto-yum. Lobster tail, meh.

This is true. My grandfather, as a child, was embarrassed to have lobster in his lunch. His father was a lobsterman. It meant you were poor.

I hate lobster. Even well cooked, I can't stand the texture and the mouth feel of the meat. I do like steamers, oysters and crabs. Something about lobster though. Ick.

You can get one steamed at Giant. Bring it home and saulte it in butter with shells on. The flavor is in the shells. Serve it over pasta, Italian style.

Or go to Legal Seafood; it's a Boston chain; so good--there's a few around here. (bonus: Their rolls are delicious, too!)

It is really delicious. Order it in a restaurant so you don't have to kill the thing yourself.

I've never tried it but would like to. Should I try making it myself or order it at a restaurant so I taste it "right" for my first time?
