Or they have no marketing skills, which may increase your chances of buying it for just an arm, versus an arm and a leg.
I fell in love with our house when it was on the market and the front yard was all concrete slabs for parking. No grass. With that curb "appeal", we were in competition with a builder who wanted it for a song so that he could tear it down. We low-balled and got the house, the concrete came up in one day and we now have a lovely front yard.

Also, beware if they don't even show a photo of the front; some only show a photo of the back of the house!
