+1 for the clinical trials at NIH. If you qualify (and it is appropriate), it may be the best way to get treatment. The medical staff at NIH are incredibly dedicated, and are more interested in finding cures for the disease than anything else. They will spend much more time with you, explaining your situation in detail, making you part of the treatment process. The medical staff care. The down side (which is also the upside) is they select you -- not everyone will qualify for the treatment.

How do you apply?

I think I read that Duke is developing a new clinical trial for brain cancer. I would go and meet with them.

Duke is definitely one of the best. My mom was treated there twice. Her favorite doctor has since retired and she doesn't really like the other ones, but it's still one of the top places to go .

For brain cancer, Duke.

My mother was treated by Joshua Ammerman (neurosurgeon) here in DC and he was great, both skilled and very kind.

Can anyone recc one of the top cancer specialists in the metro DC area? Relative diagnosed with malignant brain tumor. We are leaning toward Johns Hopkins, some say go down to Duke? Please advise. TIA.
