Give us details; it's fun helping you look!
BTW I bet we would be friends IRL. I read a book called "That Quail Robert" when I was a kid (chapter book). I never forgot it, it made such an impression. I gave the book to my kids. Before you knew it, we had an incubator and an egg. Now we have a little pet quail who putters around our house...
For the life of me I can't remember where the refuge was. I want to say it was Minnesota because of the burrowing owls but I could be wrong. And the narrator (the woman who owned the refuge) lived alone -- at least, I don't remember her mentioning that she had a family living with her. Just the great horned owl named Grandma, and the other owls.
And I'm looking up that Quail book you mentioned right now, so thanks for the tip -- if DCUM can't find the book for me, maybe I'll gift That Quail Robert instead.
