I just saw some in the Safeway here in DC. I would just check other Safeways.

Check your other Safeways. I know the Safeway at the Shoppes at Sangamore has it, but the one in Potomac does not have it. I have never seen it at either Giant that I frequent. For a different option, most of the grocery store are carrying the cut up fresh squash in the produce section. I just stick it in a corning ware dish with a cover and microwave for about 20-25 minutes. I use an immersion blender to puree it. It's even cheaper in the cold fresh produce section of Costco.

Are you sure they're not just sold out? I saw some at my Giant in MD yesterday.

It's completely disappeared from the Giant/Safeways here in Springfield. I am talking about the box of frozen orangey squash you find in the freezer veggie section along with the peas, spinach and green beans.
