I would go with two pairs of boots, one for everyday wear and another pair for wet snow/slushy weather. Most fashionable boots aren't weather-proof afaik.

Rieker my tried and true brand for walking boots. they are very lightweight, waterproof and long lasting.

Does Dansko make tall boots? I'm not a fan of the short boot trend.

They do, here's one style:

I got short ones because I just wear them under boot cut jeans anyway and they were 99$ on amazon.

Would Born boots handle walking in light rain or slushy snow ok?

Naturalizer is worth a look. Not too pricey and really comfy.

Merrell makes nice looking boots. I have a walking commute & can wear them in all weathers and don't need to change once I get to the office.

What kind if boots (other than comfortable ones)? Meaning, for work, or for weekends? If for work, what is your office dress code? Do you commute on foot, and if so, do you intend to wear your boots for the commute? How much are you looking to spend?

I'm about 75% pedestrian, and am in need of some very comfortable boots that I can walk a mile or two (or more) in, at a time. Preferably something that can withstand some wet winter weather. Any suggestions? I have no idea where to start with boots.
