I did a girls weekend at the umstead spa in Cary, NC a couple years ago. It would be good if you just want to hang out at the hotel. There's not a ton around it. But the spa and pool area are great, and there's a fantastic restaurant. The service was wonderful and the grounds are really nice given that it's literally just off the freeway.

I did another girls weekend in Charleston - that was great too. We rented a huge beach house on Isle of Palms. It was nice to be able to either drive to Charleston and explore or just hang out at the house/on the beach.

How many girls? I also love Asheville - check out the Mountain Magnolia Inn in Hot Springs, NC. I think that would be a great girls weekend as well.

+1 Charleston. Super fun. Great food and shopping. Walk everywhere from your hotel. I can't wait to go back.

Let's see......Atlanta, Savannah, Charlotte, Raleigh, Richmond, etc.

If those are the options, I'd personally go with Savannah. Cute & fun.

What time of year? Maybe Bermuda/Bahamas? Or Miami if you're feeling spunky?

Looking for somewhere in between DC and Florida, easily accessible (i.e. direct flights from major airports) for a group of old college friends to celebrate our 40th birthdays. Any ideas?
