I think the only kids who should maybe be rejected are those w/o scores (meaning they failed to reach the benchmark on either the nnat or cogat) and the parent referral file was weak. I am NOT saying all of such cases should be rejected, I am saying that those are the only kids that should be rejected, as the kids in-the-pool (meaning they met the benchmark on either the nnat or cogat) have already proven their ;worth' for AAP.

Not if they have been prepped for the tests. Hence the need for confirmation through GBRS.

Thankfully Center eligibility is not based on a single test score on a single day.

3. The identification process used by each school division must ensure that no single criterion is used to determine a student's eligibility. The identification process shall include at least three measures from the following categories:
a. Assessment of appropriate student products, performance, or portfolio;
b. Record of observation of in-classroom behavior;
c. Appropriate rating scales, checklists, or questionnaires;
d. Individual interview;
e. Individually administered or group-administered, nationally norm-referenced aptitude or achievement tests;
f. Record of previous accomplishments (such as awards, honors, grades, etc.); or
g. Additional valid and reliable measures or procedures.

No one said AAP is exclusive, nor should it be. I do not see scores of posts from parents with kids in AAP saying AAP is too easy.
