OP - this is PP. Be patient with regards to stixrud tutors replying back to you. it can take awhile. That said, I would keep searching as it can be difficult to find a tutor mid-year. Many are fully booked by the end of Sept.

I would also call the person who runs the tutoring program at Stixrud for her input. She is very knowledgeable and used to work at the McLean School. she can help with regards to which tutors are best suited for your DD.

Also try Ann Dolin's website, she is an educational consultant in NoVa but her tutors are everywhere. she is also very knowledgeable. http://ectutoring.com/

OP here - Thanks so much. I am glad to hear it is helpful for your son. I have checked out Stixrud's page and reached out to some of the tutors (awaiting response). Our daughter has a 504 plan. Her teachers are great and really helpful, but it seems that she needs a bit more. I will check out the lab school's database too.

Stixrud does neuropsych evals only, they do not do tutoring there but they do have a tutoring database on their website where you can find a tutor based on your DD's needs.

We found our tutor through their website. He's been terrific for our 5th grade DS - same DX as your DD and we are also in MoCo. he comes to our home twice a week - $75 each session. pricey but worth it as he is specially trained in working with children with learning differences.

Also try the Lab School's website they also have a tutoring database.

My 5th graders teacher recently told us that she is having a hard time with transitions, planning, etc. and we notice the same challenges at home. Now, before she heads off to middle school, we thought it might be useful for her to work some with a tutor who has experience with executive functioning. Have any other parents on this board worked with this type of tutor? How was it? Any thoughts, suggestions, considerations? Also, any recommendations of great tutors? We are in lower MoCo. The Stixrud group was recommended to us, so we are looking there. Thanks.
