Objectively I can say it will serve you better to read your emails to make sure they are accurate and spelled correctly before you send them. But I've also done what you have done and know how you will feel.

Maybe try sending him w/o the aide and see what happens? He may surprise you... I have a kid with HFA mainstreamed at a charter where prek4 was all in Mandarin which he was never exposed to prior to starting school. No aide. But he did fine with an IEP. Thanksgiving week is pretty informal anyway. Maybe worth a try.

I was the second PP. I assumed it meant times you feel bad for your child. But it doesn't really matter. I think this subforum is generally used for support vs drama filled posts, so I assumed that OP had a legitimate issue she needed help with even if I couldn't figure out what her title meant.

Will the school let him attend with a substitute aide, either you or a babysitter?

Can you organize a play date with one of his friends? Find something fun to do with him that he loves to perk him up? Figure out a way to have your own "fun school time?". Sorry, don't have experience with HFA, but that is what I would do with my kid.

My 4 yo DS's aide just let us know she has a family emergency and will be out of school for all of next week. My poor kid is going to miss the 3 days they actually had school next week. He has HFA and is mainstreamed with an aide. This sucks. He is going to miss his friends. Not sure how to let him know. Any suggestions?
