Our kids cannot even read English well, and we are talking about Arabic. I am a millionaire, and I never needed a second language. I go around the world constantly, and I speak English.

Middle schoolers and high schoolers choose between Arabic and Spanish for their world language. Some students who are significantly behind in reading have a third option which is to take a remedial reading class in middle school in the place of either.

I think Arabic is offered as an elective in the middle school but definitely not in pk -4th grade.

Congrats EL Haynes, you must be doing something right, because you've risen to the ranks of "Schools that have haters on DCUM", which is better than rankings to indicate which schools are REALLY in demand!

No idea what that means, just hoping you aren't a Haynes parent or staff. Your comment is not one I'd want associated with the school community. And even if you say you are, since it's an anonymous message board, I'm just going to hold onto the idea that you are NOT. That'll feel better.

Hi everyone, on another thread someone mentioned that Arabic is taught at EL Haynes. Is this true? I think that's awesome! If it is taught, which grades get it, and is it an option or something all students do... how does it work?

What other languages are taught at Haynes (other than I'm assuming Spanish)?
