Went to Key West last April for my 50th with friends. It was fantastic. Can't wait to return with DH. We stayed at Marriott which was very nice - great pool - but Westin was really lovely. Stay there!

Any resort in particular? Do cell phones work there (without crazy charges?)

Club level at the Ritz if you can swing it. It's really close to the airport. Nice pool and beach.

I'd go to Peurto Rico, it's easier to get in/out of than the keys. St Thomas may be the same.

Sanibel Island?
I think the Keys is more artsy/quirky/rocky than beachy, but I've never been.

I would skip the Keys and go to St. Thomas in the USVI.

Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, or Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada.

It is our 10th Anniversary. Our kids are still little and will be staying with my inlaws. For that reason, I'd like to stay in the US so we have easy use of our cell phones and plenty of flights home in case of emergency (I know, paranoid.) I LOVE the Caribbean and I'm hoping maybe there is somewhere in the Florida Keys we can go in April that will sort of feel like the Caribbean? Beautiful blue water, lovely beaches, warm weather, nice resort?

Am I going to be disappointed? Anyone have any specific resorts to recommend?
