We did three TI cycles with injectibles on BCBS then three IUIs with MDIPA starting in January 2013. They paid 50% of the IUIs until the $1800 was met. They paid for none of the injectible meds for the IUIs. By the time we got to IVF we had met the $1800 and so we only ended up paying about $1200 in coinsurance for the IVF cycle. They paid for all the meds for the IVF cycle. I am now 24 weeks pregnant with twins!
This is almost exactly our story. Except that we didn't do any IUIs after switching to MDIPA, and that we did all this a year earlier (so my twins are a year now). Good luck with your pregnancy!
We stayed with MDIPA for another year (out of loyalty and because we were too sleep deprived to think during open season), but are now switching back to BCBS, because it is considerably cheaper.
