Subject: Would you date someone in his/her late 30s who is still a virgin?
I think there is a profound issue if someone cannot or does not want to be in a close, companionate relationship by their late 30's. Whether or not that relationship includes sex can be up to multiple factors: religion, ethnicity, values, background.

I once dated a guy who had an issue with the fact that I was NOT a virgin at age 31. I had three previous sexual partners, all in long term relationships. He was catholic, though claimed he wasn't really practicing. He went to mass to pick up girls. Maybe you should go to mass, op.

Yeah, I understand where others are coming from about him not having had a SO before. But the logic there is that he has learnt from his previous relationships. All they learn is how to guard their hearts, and how to cheat, and how to have an exit strategy in place.
To that, I'd ask how many of us marry our first loves? If we're looking for marriage potential, dating someone who's never been in a relationship is prob not the way to go.
Does not matter if you marry your first love or fiftieth. Divorce rate is still 50%. If your first love happened at 15, u would not marry them. If it happened at 30, you probably would marry them.

What about a female? I guess women would be more inclined to give a virgin man a chance than guys would be to give a virgin woman a chance...
Really? I actually think it is reverse. Men may be more accepting of virgins, women may be more leery.
In any case I think it is ok if either or both of them are virgins or have never had an SO. The relationship is between the two people in question, not between people from their past.

I have a friend who's in her late 30s, a virgin and never had a boyfriend.. she's very good-looking (when we were younger she could have been rightfully called a knockout), comes from a good family, is well-educated, and has so many 'issues' that her virginity/boyfriend-ness do not surprise me anymore.

And/or who has never had a boyfriend/girlfriend? Just curious. My guess is that, perhaps with the exception of highly religious people, most people wouldn't, particularly if it's a late-30s virgin woman -- highly unusual, high likelihood of pent up emotional issues, potential clingy-ness, etc.
