I'm having around 22 to 24 people and am thinking of doing 2 12-pounders too. The smaller birds taste better and I do have 2 ovens. Plus they cook in much less time.

I think the biggest I've had is 22 pounds and it easily served 24 people with lots of leftovers. I think that 1 lb rule is a little over. We always have leftovers - tons of them - with following that rule.

How many people did it serve?

That's a really large size. I know the rule of thumb is 1 lb/person, but if your crowd includes children or you're serving another meat, you might want to go a little smaller.

I was going to do a 25lb bird but I decided to get 2 12lbs instead. We'll roast one and deep fry the other.

22 lb is the largest I've fit in mine, make sure your roasting pan takes a bid that big

Like, will it fit in my standard-sized oven?
