I have a lot of gray now, and I color. Turned 50 this year, but also have elem. age kids... Don't want to be called their grandma, so I will continue to color.

I'm over 50 and just started getting gray hair. I have no intention of going natural.

I find people who call people "hon" to be stupid morons from the south. Get a real vocabulary.

late 40s - I am about 70% gray.

stopped coloring in my late 30s when I had my first

Both stylists over the past 10 years have told me that my gray is nice gray. And they were adamant about leaving it alone.

Who am I to argue?

Started getting white streaks in my 20's, dyed for a while in 30's, and have been going natural since 32 or so. 40 now and maybe 60% white, the rest dark brown. It ages me some, of course, but people say it is striking (at least to my face!).

I'm having this issue as well. I've been doing low-lights to blend the grays. Honestly, my biggest issue is the wirey texture of the grays. Ugh.

I also let the white creep in during my early/mid 40's just to see what it would look like. Answer: awful. The white and the ashy way my natural hair was fading just did not compliment my skin tone at all. I'm in my late 40's and have only been coloring my hair for a couple of years, I probably should have done it early than that. I doubt that I'll stop any time soon.

I am in my early 40s and my hair is 95% white. I developed white patches of hair in my mid-20s. It looked strange so I starting coloring. If I had the salt'n'pepper type of gray, I probably would not have colored at all. I think I'll stop coloring at age 50. I imagine I'll get a really short pixie cut in order to start fresh. My hair grows quickly so I wouldn't worry if I didn't like the cut.

And how did you do it?

I'm brunette, but getting more salt and pepper. I was thinking instead of having the brunette dye grow out (so it's dark on the ends), that maybe I go blonde and then let that grow out.

What are your tips and tricks?
Thank you!
