It really depends on state law. In some states, good cause for quitting must be connected with the work, attributable to the employer, or involve fault on the part of the employer. In other states, you may qualify if you if had good personal cause for quitting or compelling family circumstances. These might include illness (yours or an immediate family member's), sexual harassment, domestic violence, or relocating with a spouse whose place of employment has changed. The only way to find out if you qualify for benefits is to file a claim. If you quit, you will have a hearing with a claims deputy who will hear your side of the separation, and your employer's side. Then they will make an eligibility determination based on the state's unemployment law.
