Not OP, but what time of year do you do this? Spring? (I'm also new to NoVa and scared about the tick situation. My kids are jumping into piles of leaves…)

Frontline for the pets, Deet for humans, cut grass regularly, daily tick checks.

My welcome to NoVa... got bit by a tick and now on antibiotics... trying to look to the future. Anyone have any success on prevention for the lawn that has worked. Worried about my dog and children moving forward.
