We love Roshd Academy! Its in Falls Church City, Virginia and they have their Farsi classes in the mornings. My kids have been going there since PreK and oldest is now in 6th grade. Additionally, they do lots of cultural events and opportunities for students to take leadership roles at the school. Its truly the best Farsi school in Virginia and around the DMV! Good luck!!

if you were religious, there is a really nice (read: moderate and welcoming) islamic sunday school called "islamic weekend school" held in bethesda on sundays. its very diverse with all different nationalities represented. they offer an arabic class in addition to religion and quran/prayers.

Second the Freer Museum. They have a big celebration for Nowruz. If you look at this past year's program, you'll probably be able to find the names of dance groups etc. Some of those may over kids' classes or performances.

Another option is that, if you are using daycare, try to find a Persian daycare owner. At least many of the home daycare a in Vienna are run by Persian women, many of whom speak Farsi to the children, serve Persian food, etc.

The Iranian Community School in Vienna is fantastic. As an adult (American married to Iranian) I took classes there and loved it, I'm sure our child will be going there soon as well.

I'm an American with a half-Persian son and am looking for ideas as well. One thing we like to do is Shamshiry on Sundays for a late lunch. We go to the Persian market in Vienna and stock up on Norooz items each year and put on a big traditional dinner. I wish I knew of playgroups like the PP mentioned. We'll do language classes when our son is a bit older.

I know there were Farsi classes in DC for kids b/c we know someone who sent their kid there. I think it was around Tenleytown, but I don't know how young they started.

Georgetown University and the Middle East Institute both offer classes/programs for Farsi for adults, but they might be able to connect you to local, cultural resources.

There are lots of Persians living in this area--lots of restaurants. I'd try meetup.com or cultural organizations, e.g.:

Also, there was a thread in the Cooking & Food forum about Persian food where a Persian parent with a young kid posted to connect with other Persians and another post in the Playgroups seeking Persian parents. (It might have been you, OP, but I realize I spend way to much time on DCUM.

Following up on the previous Indian thread......We are an Persian family but my husband and I were born and brought up in the US. We learned Farsi from our parents and were exposed to Persian culture/religion at home, but were generally pretty "Westernized." Now that we have kids, we would like to expose them to Persian culture. We aren't religious. Where can I find Persian language classes, or Persian dance classes or cultural events for my daughter (age 3)? Does anyone have experience or ideas? We are open to anything in the DC metro area.
