Bulk things up with a salad and non-fat dressing.

Second Lara bars- sure you could buy dates, nuts, raisins, etc. but Lara bars rock.

Check out Larabars. They are made from just nuts, fruit and spices. Love them!

Think Thin bars are made with crap ingredients. Stay away from things like soy isolate etc.

Try the Think Thin bars. Far less sugar and very filling.

For me the only thing that helps is time. I have to acclimate to the exercise or something.

Get protein powder and a shaker. Drink that post workout. Learn to like it mixed with water. Hard boiled eggs are good. I also baked sliced sweet potatoes and munch on those if I get hungry.

I (personally) would replace the oatmeal with eggs + veggies, and would try for more protein rich dairy products. Avocado, more nuts, olive oil for fat which will help satiate you. Smoothies with protein powder are a great option, and if you're going to eat a "protein bar" Luna is not the best option. There are many more out there with way more protein and way less sugar.

Is there a protein bar you would recommend? I find in the afternoons I am constantly on the run and that is when I tend to grab an unhealthy snack.

Just as a disclaimer before I answer: I stand corrected on my statement that there are bars out there with less sugar. I'm sure there are, but the one I like, Powerbar Protein Plus in Vanilla Yogurt flavour has 19g of sugar, while the chocolate Luna protein bars have 13g. However, Powerbar has 23g of protein while Luna only has 12g. It's also the most delicious protein source I've ever put in my mouth, so that helps.

In my own experience, in the realm of fitness/supplements I stay away from anything marketed towards women. You get less of the good stuff than the same product marketed towards men, because no woman could ever need that much protein after her yogalates class or whatever, right?

I have just recently started exercising again on a regular basis and I'm so hungry all the time. What are some healthier snack options that will keep me full? This is what I have eaten so far today:

Oatmeal with blueberries and sprinkle of granola, cup of tea
post-work out snack: handful of nuts and cup of green tea
Lunch: baked flounder filet with salad
Afternoon snack: Banana and I just broke down and had a luna bar. The protein bars really curb my hunger but I was trying to limit them because they have so much sugar.
Planned dinner: Indian spiced ground turkey with peas with 1/2 serving of brown rice and broccoli
