Agree with Dr. Milmoe at Georgetown Hospital. Easy to get in.

Was he just diagnosed? Does he have any language access and expressive language?

Definitely contact Gallaudet. There is an elementary school (Kendall Demonstration Elementary School) on campus as well, may be worth a visit. Its important to get language access ASAP, especially considering that he is almost 6.

I think the PP means Bahadori. Plenty of good doctors in that office. Definitely describe the situation and be flexible -- all the docs are good -- and you should be able to be seen quickly.

Go to the emergency room. This could be a brain thing and not an ear thing.

OP, is the loss sudden? I mean, did it happen unexpectedly recently? If so, I would take your child to the ER at Children's ASAP.

If it's more that you just discovered it, I would call and explain. If you have a pediatrician, often he/she can call and get you in right away.

Agree with this. It sounds like English isn't your first language so is there someone who may be able to assist you with calling them? I'd hate for your child to have to wait for an appointment because of miscommunication or misunderstanding. And I don't mean that in a mean way. We are currently living abroad and our Spanish probably is similar to your level of English. We've had to enlist the help of some native speaker friends when dealing with some things that are very important.
