+1 but with a Britax Marathon or Roundabout. Can't remember which is in which car. Either way, DC is still rear-facing in the Outback at age 2.5 - plenty of room!
We're out of town, but our dealer here said we could take the test drive car home for the day to install the carseat and drive DV around town to see how it felt. We didn't do it - could eyeball the space just fine - but we appreciated the offer. Subaru dealerships are usually very nice and easy to deal with. You could always ask.
