My DH has never come to any conferences. Not that he is not interested in the kids, but I feel like I can handle it myself and relay any information.

Personally I would not want the kids in the room. Too distracting and the conference is so short to start with.

Bring the kids and bring special snacks/books/toys. I heard people brought their kids last year.

Teacher here....children often come to conferences....not a big deal at all. However, you know your children. If you think either will be distracting and take away from your conference, I would suggest only parent attend. Worse comes to worse, one of you excuses yourself and walks the children outside. (Certainly not suggesting that your children WOULD be distracting)

Either way is fine. Most of my students' siblings come to conferences since they don't have the $ for a sitter. I put out Legos and blocks, puzzles, etc on the table and rug on the far side of the classroom.

I always brought our kids (three) and never had any problem with their teachers. Both my husband and I wanted to talk to their teachers. We brought books to read and other stuff for quiet activities (no electronics) and it worked well.

teacher here: bring them. I usually sit students in the hall, but with a 3-year-old, the teacher might be fine with both of them being in the room, but across the room with distractions.

You won't be the only one with kids there, guarantee it.

I totally dropped the ball & am stuck for our parent teacher conference tomorrow. My choices are either bring DS and his 3 year brother, or leave them home with DH. No sitter, friend or neighbor

DS is doing well, a pretty typical kid& I don't have any real questions for his teacher.

One of DH and my issues is being in the same page, so I'd really like us both to hear what hid teacher had to say - but don't want the teacher to hold back because my kids are there

I'm thinking ill bring them, with their 'screens' and sit them across the room. The appt is only 15 min


What do you think?
