You'd lose the bet

Maybe ask an employer outside of SC if they have even heard of the school and I'd bet most haven't.

USC on the whole is for B+ students! but the IB program competes with Wharton.

This is becoming a hot school for the B+ students around here -- at least among my high schoolers and their classmates. Although I hadn't heard about the IB program.

I notice that the portion of the program related to Egypt is on hold:

MENA Track, Egypt
The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) International Business track is a collaboration between USC and American University in Cairo, Egypt that provides students with the tools necessary to successfully compete in the MENA regional business environment. The program pairs up 20 students from USC and 20 from AUC to form a cohort. USC Students also spend two intensive summers studying Modern Standard Arabic. *Due to the political climate in Egypt, the MENA program is currently not accepting applicants.

I wonder if prospective employers regard the South Carolina program as #1? I didn't see anything about "outcomes" on the website.

DH and I were rather shocked by that ranking when we visited the school with our DD. I'd love to hear the answer, too.

Maybe they figured out how to get their #s just right to get the ranking they want. Schools play games to get the rankings they want sometimes. You know, like how law schools gave their unemployed grads temporary jobs that maybe lasted a little over six months at their school so they could say a higher percentage of their graduates were employed six months out.

South Carolina's Sonoco International Business Department at the Darla Moore School of Business has an undergraduate International Business major that has been consistently ranked No. 1 by U.S. News and World Report - better than Wharton? That strikes me as odd, since I don't think of South Carolina as either elite or cosmopolitan. Does anyone know why this program is so great?
