Wasn't crazy about the quality of the teachers or the administration at Kilmer. The last good principal there was about a decade ago. The front office is not friendly. The teachers are very uneven, and some love to play favorites. I'd take a "competitive" school where everyone is held to a high standard over a "relaxed" one where the administrators and many of the teachers don't quite have their act together.

My DC is at Cooper and we get the bi-weekly progress reports too. I imagine it's a FCPS thing.

We love Kilmer. My ds loves all but one of his teachers (and considering he has 7, what more could we ask for). We get grade reports from every teacher, every other week (do they do this at all MS?) There is much less drama and one-up-manship than we experienced in our AAP center ES.

I saw in the other thread that it's not as competitive, which is nice b/c I can't stand the uber-competitive vibe in this area. What else can you tell me? (academic/social/etc)
