What someone else said. For the Open House it is often typical for the kids to go. Definitely not on the tour/information session. The open house invitations should make it obvious. We did the Maret open house and it was full of kids. I think they are welcome at the Beauvoir one as well.

It was a few years ago, but I brought my 3yo daughter to weekend open houses at both Sidwell and Beauvoir, simply because I did not have any other readily available childcare option. I can't remember whether I called the schools in advance to ask, but I probably did. In any event, both schools were very welcoming and there were half a dozen similarly young children at each open house. Sidwell had a room with toys in it next door to where the open house presentation was, and Beauvoir has some toys in a hallway area outside the meeting room. No big deal. I'd just call the schools to ask.

NO! I need to focus, not manage my kid

Exactly. Just pick up the phone and ask.

Kids will see the school at the play date. I'd call and ask before showing up, but I don't remember seeing any last year at tours and the one I saw the year before didn't go well. They stuck out AND the kid got bored (no surprise) and had a full meltdown. It probably wasn't the first impression they were hoping for.

I think Open House means you can bring kids. But a mid-week tour - probably not.

Another poster who is curious why not? Wouldn't you want your kids to see the school and see how they like it/react? Plus, it's an opportunity to familiarize with the atmosphere before the play date.

Why not for Pre-K or K? I've seen some families with kids and some without?

Just curious what is typical for these private school tours and open houses? Do parents typically bring kids or not?
