Look, these folks are crazy. Smoothies are such a great snack. Just make them on the spot, or bring them cooled with ice packs and bring ice.

They are so refreshing, in the winter, you would really only need a little less than you would at a summer party.

Hopefully you won't be swayed by this advice. Just ask some folks you know who eat healthy. Why are hot wings with barbecue sauce or somethings similar a much better choice than something that is so high in nutrients?

You can do it if you're committed. If not, just bring something else, either way, HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME!

Not only that you'll be 'serving' everyone because smoothies have to be made on the spot.

Don't bring smoothies to a potluck in November. That's a weird thing to bring to any potluck but especially one in cold weather.

Not a good potluck choice. Over time they get more liquidy and separate. They are best consumed immediately after preparation.

I am assuming you mean smoothies that you want colder than refrigerator temperature. If so, yes, you have to make them on the spot.

But, you can put all the ingredients except the ice in a Tupperware, then bring ice and a blender. So all you're doing onsite is putting a scoop of filling and a scoop of ice in he blender and pressing on.

You could also make them in advance and freeze it in ice cube trays, then out smoothie ice cubes in the blender and pulse on site. Even less on site work, but more total work.

Or you could pre-blend it in a pitcher, put the pitcher in the work freezer, and stir it every 20 minutes until the potluck. No work at time of potluck and minimal equipment, but cumbersome.

Or you could pre-make the smoothies without ice, put them in a Tupperware pitcher, and put the pitcher in the work fridge. Then shake the smoothies with ice in a cocktail shaker. Removes the need for a blender.

Or, if you get cups with lids and straws like at an actual smoothie place, you could pour the premixed smoothies over ice and put the lids and straws on so people don't get the ice in their mouths when they drink. The smoothie would need to be a bit watery to begin with, and might get too watered by the time people finish drinking them.

Can you make smoothies ahead of time and store in the fridge for the potluck? Would I have to make them on the spot?
