That is def my main concern, the housing and other things related to it. The 4 yo is the only one who will get gifts. My DH and I do not exchange anything and the family gave up the exchange of gifts, they pick names and this year we are opting out of it. They will send something for the little one, other than that, thats it

OP here. Not eligible for unemployment. I just tried to see if we were eligible for help through the county for food assistance, but I guess we make too much with just what my husband makes, which is not much. I did find a food bank that helps out with essentials, leaving us with just meats and dairy, etc to buy.

Will def look into the options for christmas but honestly, he is little and doesnt realize if the things I get are used and cleaned up. He is not a spoiled child IE doesnt get everything he sees and wants so it wont be a problem.

Thank yuo for your support. I have never felt so low in my life.

I have been doing daycare for years and lost my kids last October. I did some online work until that ended in August. I am therefore starting my daycare back up but not having a lot of success. I am listing stuff on Ebay and selling groups as much as I can, goodness knows I have accumulated a lot over the years. But I need a REAL job.

The online job I had was doing some online research for a company. The project ended and we are being told there may be more work in the foreseeable future, but I cant wait for the unknown. I have one child after school but it just isnt paying enough. I have a 4 yo of my own.

Credit card companies will work w you if you call them.

OP here, I realize it is not a priority which is why it was towards the bottom of the list

I am getting ready to start calling my creditors tomorrow in order to figure out what we can do.

Any ideas on what kind of work I can consider if working at night is a must?

You need a place to live, utilities, food. Those are your priorities.

when money is very limited due to a job loss?

I have a mortgage and home equity loan

Household bills such as gas, electric, water

Car Insurance

House Insurance

Cable

Credit Cards

Real Estate taxes (overdue and soon to be billed for in December)

Groceries

HELP I am actively looking for work and getting more and more depressed as my bills are slipping. I have a friend who is staying with us and contributing a little money
towards rent, but we have fallen behind on a lot of stuff and trying to play catchup the best way we can do

The mortgage company has worked with us with an adjustment to both loans however Nov is the last month on the current plan and I worry they wont work with us another 6 months.

I am applying for jobs, but am limited on hours because I do have a 4 yo so daycare costs need to be taken into consideration if and where I go work.

So, what is the consensus?
