Interested in broadening your mathematical knowledge and sharpening your analytical thinking? Join the Fairfax Math Circle for exciting math talks and problem solving sessions hosted by the George Mason University. Speakers will include math professors and mathematicians from around the region. Topics include number theory, combinatorics, probability, geometry, and group theory.

During the academic year 2013-14, the Fairfax Math Circle will meet on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in Exploratory Hall, room 4106 at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA 22030. We look forward to seeing you! Click here for directions.

Am also interested in this, and which schools (if any) that follow the traditional math model (multiplication tables, etc ) vs the loosey goosey new math garbage.

any parent who can teach math at home and make learning and application of math fun - you can teach much more at home than anything taught in the "best" of schools

Which public schools in NoVA would you choose for a child who loves and excels in math? (apart from TJ which is obviously not open admission). We are moving to NoVA from out of state and have heard good things about Arlington, Fairfax, and Falls Church City...but I am looking for more specifics...DS is in 2nd grade currently.
