i'm indian-american...and we do/did nothing....and my parents were super conservative...we just didn't really celebrate anything; i guess i come from a debbie-downer family.

We make aloo puri with halwa, do pooja, and light diyas that we put outside. This is our first year with two kids. I can't wait to dress my baby up in his tiny dhoti outfit!

We like to dress in new clothes and make a bunch of sweets and of course do small fireworks and sparklers.
