In past years, I have done:
- pre-cooked turkey from Balducci's (pretty good, very expensive)
- organic fresh turkey from WF's (cooked it myself, was awful - seemingly a skinny, scrawny turkey & flavor was not great - maybe my baking skills contributed, don't know, quite expensive)
- non-organic theoretically fresh (although clearly at least partially frozen) turkey from Giant (we smoked the turkey outside in our smoker - turned out awesome, best turkey yet)
As a general matter, we prefer fresh, organic, free-range and this is what we eat on a regular basis. I got the cheap-o turkey at Giant only because the prior year's WF turkey was so bad.
So, looking for recommendations . . . should I give WF another try? Costco turkey? Other?
