A similar variation (based on a childhood mispronunciation that my see disrers adopted). He signs cards to us as Dad though. We all call my mother Mummy too (British parents).

I say dad, but sometimes I say daddy. I don't think it's weird. It's just normal speech. I say mom, but sometimes I say mommy. They're both terms of endearment to me. My parents are awesome people. The older I get, the more I realize this.

Dad. My former stepmother was still referring to her father as daddy when she was in her 50s. I found it creepy.

lol it used to be only when asking a favor/buttering him up. But now that I have a kid and we refer to husband as daddy, I've let it slip quite a few times when talking to my dad!
