I think any of these schools would work. These schools also understand that middle school grades are not necessarily very good predictors of high school succeess.

It sounds like your DC would be welcome at St. Andrew's and most of the other schools as well. I also wouldn't put much stock in the grades at progressive schools up to this point as any sort of limiting factor. The environment at some progressives below high school may give room for some kids to flourish, but for other kids it does not work as a good motivator as well as just a slightly more structured environment. I also wouldn't put too much stock in ERBs. I am often astonished at how little those have correlated (ERBs usually, not always, being lower) to other standardized tests for my own kids over the years.

I am a parent of a Burke grad and given the information you have shared, I think they will enthusiastically welcome your child.

My DC is now in 7th grade so we're starting to think more seriously about high school. DC is bright but not super-smart -- IQ tests suggest IQ around 85th percentile -- and mostly gets Bs at a progressive k-8 private. ADHD and some mild learning disabilities; ERB scores above average for independent school national norm but only by a few percentage points. Has not yet taken SSAT/ISEE. A great kid: kind, creative, cooperative, very good at art, drama, etc. Would a kid like this be able to get into schools such as McLean, St Andrews, Field, Burke, Flint Hill, Madeira? I have no idea what kinds of scores/grades are required.
