2. To save money we shop at Food Lion. Prices are SOOO much cheaper, though we do splurge at Wegman's for special occasions and entertaining. Our cars are 8 and 11 years old, run fine and have no immediate plans to replace them. Drove to Richmond to save hundreds of dollars on our dog's dental work. Buy generic dish soap and dishwashing detergent. Haircuts=Hair Cuttery. Pay as you go cell phones, mine is a 6 year old Nokia!
3. Splurge-vacations, travel.

*I used to make $90k. Now collecting unemployment.
*Dropped about half of the kids activities and sold my car.
*Organic foods.

1. Roughly $450K from salary, set for life from an inheritance DH recently received.
2. I guess restaurant.com? Before DH made it big and I was putting myself through nursing school (this was before we got married), I used to buy a Kindle book from Amazon and since I am a speed reader, I would cancel the purchase and still have time to read it before it was erased from my Kindle. Stopped doing that when spending $13 on a book wasn't a luxury

OP, I have 5 times less the HHI but I spend my money on educational activities for my kids and travel to see family abroad, living on 2 different continents.
In my opinion you are choosing, correctly, to save on unimportant consumables like restaurants, but to invest in what really matters.

I'll start.
1. HHI = $500,000
2. I am embarassed about using lots of dining coupons (not enough to stop though). I love the Entertainment Book and restaurant.com. I almost never return to the same restaurant unless I get another discount. I am very conservative with paper products. i.e. Napkins, tissues, toilet paper, writing paper. One shampoo bottle can last nearly a year.
I like to walk instead of drive. I shop online but always through a portal that gives me 1-10% cash back.
3. One year, I bought about 10 timeshare weeks. Some I love, some I now regret. I have a $2.5 million house. My DS had about 6 private tutors each week in a variety of areas.
