Poached pears are an easy way to go through a ton. Fill a slow cooker with a spiced, sweetened red wine mixture or a vanilla syrup, put the pears in there, and cook for a few hours.

I bought too many pears. What's your favorite pear recipe? I'm not a huge dessert fan, so savory ideas also welcome.
