I have been told that these are both great schools. We are considering moving, which would change them to Sequoyah Elementary, Redland middle, and Magruder High. I don't know much about the latter two schools and everyone I ask doesn't seem to have much to offer. I was wondering if anyone had any input? It would be greatly appreciated
same feeder as your kids -from SES to Farquhar
Our feeders to Sherwood are solid schools - good community support. Sequoia is a good school, but it's having some transitional issues b/c of rezoning. I don't think the community is used to an increase in FARMs.
It's difficult to rezone in our cluster, as there's nothing much else around. A tiny part of Farquhar is in the NEC, and they complain about not having Sherwood High as their home school. Years ago, Sherwood opted out of the NEC, which was a wise move in my opinion.
You could check schools at a glance. Many rely on it b/c it includes data. So people can compare. There's a big difference in dropout rates , for example, and with FARMs numbers.
