See what the cable company offers and call FIOS and tell them you're thinking of switching because cable offers XYZ and ask them to match. They probably won't but should offer you something and then you can decide if you'd rather pay a little more for FIOS or get cable. Alternatively, cancel account and have other spouse sign up in their name so you get promo rate again.

We passed the one year mark on our triple play package and are now paying $165/month for the package, including our DVR with HD. I am planning to call FIOS to see how we can get this down, but I want to hear from you if you were succesful. We are willing to drop the landline, but only if the savings are worthwhile. In other words, I know they make it worthwhile to keep the bundle. It is worth $5-10/month for us to keep the landline. We are not willing to lose the DVR, but we would be willing to lose the HD. I think we have the slowest internet. No premium channels. Should we switch carriers and then switch back to save some money?
