exactly people shouldn't be posting on this thread if they don't know what car camping means. obviously you won't be able to answer OPs question. I have not yet attempting any camping with my kid - maybe next year.

If yon go into the travel section, there are a few good threads with packing lists and food ideas. People put a lot of it into the lists that were posted. I'm not good with the search function, or I'd post the links.

some campgrounds are meant for you to drive to and park your car next to your site. This is car camping.

If you want to get out into the woods - you put everything in a backpack - park your car at the trail head and HIKE to your campsite.

I can understand why OP is choosing car camping with little kids.

If you want to a camp in a place where there are no roads, then you park your car and hike to the campsite with all your stuff.

you can drive to the campsite (car camping) or hike to the campsite with a backpack on your back (backpacking)
