Since these are really good, they tend to be more authentic so, spicey. Even though I'm sure they can accommodate, you can find milder tastes in not as authentic Thai restaurants or even a Malaysian restaurant, like Penang.

Agree with Ruan Thai, but we thought Bangkok Barden was lousy. If you want less authentic but excellent, and are willing to travel into the District, try Paragon Thai in Cleveland Park. Sala Thai in Bethesda can be good but it's very hit or miss and the service sucks. When it's good, though, it's very good.
