Hi all,
Ok, first of all, things are mostly fine... I think.
My son's at Greenbelt, and some of his teachers use Edmodo and some do not for assignments, and they use them to varying degrees.
Hence, I am having a bit of a time helping my budding proto-adolescent learn to keep track of assignments and not get buried. He mostly does this on his own (thank God), but then occasionally there's a flurry of late work, last minute work, etc. Oh...he also goes back and forth between his dad's house and mine, so that's an extra wrinkle in keeping track of things.
If anybody has any advice or input they want to share, I'm all ears, but here's what I'm trying so far. I'm re-instituting the nightly backpack check for a while, and I told him to actually write down ON PAPER what his homework is daily..including longer-term assignments. Then we can check it against Edmodo, and break out longer assignments into chunks. Naturally, he wants my help, but also doesn't want my help. Thoughts? Mostly just want ot make sure he learns to manage his time without feelings of complete dread and panic.
