I got a great deal on a box for the Quidditch World Cup ( people are still upset by the lack of control by the ministry at the last one) which I could donate. We are not big Quidditich fans. Would donating items a year in advance help my chances or would it make me look desperate? Or should I donate at my current school and get a recommendation? BTW- Our DD is really bright just doesn't test well. We would really like Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. I don't think she would do well in Slytherin as there are too many mean girls.
The video promoting materials for Beauxbatons are misleading. The written brochure actually states that it is co-ed.
I would invite both Pr. McGonagall and Pr. Flitwick to dinner, talk to her about your DD, etc. Also maybe do some intensive tutoring with some Hogwarts Prefects (that will cost you serious Galleons, though!).
Think well about what you really want for your DD: is it better to finish top of her class in Hufflepuff than last in Ravenclaw or Griffindor? What will her career prospects be? Muggle liaison jobs mostly come out of Hufflepuff house - they don't go for the flashy posts and are willing to put in the time, plus, with Muggle parents she'd be a shoe-in.
Anyway, just a few thoughts.
