The video promoting materials for Beauxbatons are misleading. The written brochure actually states that it is co-ed.

I would invite both Pr. McGonagall and Pr. Flitwick to dinner, talk to her about your DD, etc. Also maybe do some intensive tutoring with some Hogwarts Prefects (that will cost you serious Galleons, though!).
Think well about what you really want for your DD: is it better to finish top of her class in Hufflepuff than last in Ravenclaw or Griffindor? What will her career prospects be? Muggle liaison jobs mostly come out of Hufflepuff house - they don't go for the flashy posts and are willing to put in the time, plus, with Muggle parents she'd be a shoe-in.

Anyway, just a few thoughts.

I hear if your child has a strong will to be in one house over another, The Sorting Hat will take that into consideration. So I would start talking up Gryffindor to get it into her head.

My DC is 10 years old and she isn't scoring very well on her Scantron Owls. Is there any hope that she will get in to any house other than Hufflepuff? I am wondering if she would do better in a tier 2 school. Are there any prep classes that could help? Unfortunately, we have no ties to the ministry and are both muggles. Also, my DD is deathly allergic to dogs and I heard a horrible rumor about a three headed dog. I'm wondering if a tier 2 school might be better option in any case for us due to safety. I am not a fan of the Triwizard Tournament.
