Nope. There was a LS head and a MS head, and no overall assistant head.
Yes. Last year. Further in the past, at some other point in the school 'a 68 years of operation, there was a head and an assistant head. They are going back to that. I'm not sure what overall impact this will have because it seems like they're making 3 jobs into 2. BUT I wanted to point out that there's a historical precedent for this and that it's a model that worked for the school in the past, not some new, untried thing.
