It is very common for daycare providers to be inappropriate with children. Some of them do yell and do not have patience to be with children. I would just drop in several times and see what is going on. You will catch her.

OP, I would consider making pop-in visits b/f you talk with the teacher. There's also no harm in speaking with the director first.

My son is almost 3, and he makes stuff up all of the time. He just doesn't have a really sharp grasp of the difference between stories and reality. If your child is repeating some particular idiomatic expression that you don't use, then that may be a repetition of something she heard at school.

Can you go observe, or better yet, ask a friend with a child in the class to observe for you?

If you have a problem with child's preschool teacher (accusations of roughness, remarks about personal appearance), would you talk to the teacher first or request meetings with director, either alone or with teacher present? My child is an articulate 3yo so I think she's just parroting what the teacher says to her. She of course could be misconstruing the situation but I don't think she's sophisticated enough to lie.
